Mining Spec 5 Rustproofing - Extra Heavy Duty

(Spec:- BS500)

Beam Spec BS500 is a comprehensive rust treatment designed to combat corrosion in harsh conditions where the standard mining specification is inadequate. BS500 includes other high risk areas such as the exhaust system and the electrical and hydraulic fittings / connections. This level of rust protection is ideal for vehicles engaged in underground mining and would be the minimum requirement for those used in salt and fertiliser works and coastal shipping facilities.

Application Procedure:

Part A (Same as for Mine Spec BS400)

Part B (Additional to Mine Spec BS400)

• Remove all fixed windows and spray or brush Ulratect "Imron" 2K Teflon/Polyurethane Clearcoat  rust treatment around the window frames and refit.  Also treat external channel rails where required.
• The exhaust system is then dismantled and sprayed with Ultratect Metal Fix 1000, a high temperature rust resistant etch primer, this will ensure the system cannot rust from the outside.
• We then coat the door hinges, wheel studs, hose connections, battery terminals and shock absorber mountings with (CG900) anti-corrosion grease.
• The next step is to apply Denso Tape to the following areas:
  • Front suspension rod threads, bolts, tie rods ends and top shock absorber threads.
  • Brake adjusters, line fittings, pivots.
  • All accessible hydraulic fittings and joins.
  • All external electrical wiring connections.
  • Headlight and tail light, number plate globe connectors.
• Replacing all parts that were removed prior to the vehicle being protected then finishes the vehicle.
• All drain holes are checked to ensure they are free from any residual rustproofing product.
• The vehicle is then cleaned off using a mild solvent to ensure that there is no over-spray on the body, trim, windows or any other exterior parts.

Recommended Optional Treatments

• Some or all of the exterior painted surfaces can be coated with our Ultratect "Imron" 2K Teflon/Polyurethane Clearcoat to provide long-term protection against attack by water, acids and most chemicals. This product is ideal for Roofs, Gutters, doors, Bonnets, Side steps, Bull bars in fact its applications are almost unlimited. Ulratect "Imron" is clear, UV stable (will not go yellow) and will not significantly change the appearance of the substrate. This product will also rejuvenate (add gloss and colour) and protect oxidised paint and is ideal for all manner of plant and machinery.
• Rhino Lining  - Polyurethane spray-on tray and surface coating -  Ideal for inside load areas and to encapsulate and permanently protect high wear areas such as bull bars, side steps, internal floor pans etc. Available in many colours. Sprayed on up to 6mm thick. Slip resistant. Prevents Rust and Corrosion. Waterproof and chemical resistant. (for further information see the Rhino web site at www.rhinolinings.com.au
