Mining Spec 6 Rustproofing - Extreme Conditions

(Spec:- BS600)

Beam Spec BS600 is our most thorough Bituminous Based rust treatment currently available and is designed to combat corrosion in extreme conditions. BS600 includes protection of the entire external painted surfaces of the vehicle. This level of rust protection is offers the ultimate corrosion protection for vehicles and machinery engaged in underground mining, salt and fertiliser works and coastal shipping facilities.

Application Procedure:

Part A (Same as for Mine Spec BS500)

Part B (Additional to Mine Spec BS500)

  • All of the exterior painted surfaces (vehicle cab) are coated with our  Ultratect "Imron" 2K Teflon/Polyurethane Clearcoat to provide long-term protection against attack by water, acids and most chemicals. This product is ideal for Roofs, Gutters, doors, Bonnets, Side steps, Bull bars in fact its applications are almost unlimited. Ultratect "Imron" is clear, UV stable (will not go yellow) and will not significantly change the appearance of the substrate. It can also be removed or repaired easily at any time if required. This product will also rejuvenate (add gloss and colour) and protect oxidised paint and is ideal for all manner of plant and machinery.
  • The exhaust system is coated with a high temperature rust preventative coating Metalfix 1000.
  • Replacing all parts that were removed prior to the vehicle being protected then finishes the vehicle.
  • All drain holes are checked to ensure they are free from any residual rustproofing product.
  • The vehicle is then cleaned off using a mild solvent to ensure that there is no over-spray on the body, trim, windows or any other exterior parts.


Recommended Optional Treatments

  • Rhino Lining  - Polyurethane spray-on tray and surface coating -  Ideal for inside load areas and to encapsulate and permanently protect high wear areas such as bull bars, side steps, internal floor pans etc. Available in many colours. Sprayed on up to 6mm thick. Slip resistant. Prevents Rust and Corrosion. Waterproof and chemical resistant. (for further information see the Rhino web site at www.rhinolinings.com.au
